MicroSurvey Training Week

 

Come Join MicroSurvey in the Okanagan Valley for a training week. 

We'll host sessions on a variety of applications so that attendees can pick and choose the topics of their choice and enjoy a bit of Okanagan spring weather for the remainder of the week.  We'll be pleased to invite everyone to our training lab where you'll be able to use the classroom computers or bring your own laptop.

MicroSurvey COGO Functionality

A newly developed 6 to 8 hour hands-on session focusing on MicroSurvey's elegant cadastral functions.  This class will involve an overview of COGO functions and completion of one or two "Real World" projects (depending on time) consisting of importing fieldwork, calculations and production of the final rough drawing.  Pick here for an overview.

MicroSurvey Modeling and DTM

Training in MicroSurvey's modeling, volumes and design tools. Students will enjoy the combination of classroom discussion, demonstrations, hands-on exercises and our palatial training facilities.  Pick Here for a list of topics to be covered.  This training session will cover basic and advanced features of MicroSurvey's modeling and design modules. The course will involve 8 hours of class time and 8 hours of lab time; spread over 2 days. Students will be prepared to build and troubleshoot surfaces, compute volumes and perform some simple design tasks. Lab sessions are designed to provide time for guided practice and to provide an open forum for students to bring their own questions.  Sample files will be provided.

STAR*NET Certification

This course will prepare you to use most aspects of STAR*NET.  Attendees at this session will gain experience using converters, setting up a STAR*NET project, selecting or computing appropriate apriori values (Instrument Settings), discussion of field procedures and will practise a variety of troubleshooting techniques.  Techniques will be practised using total station, RTK GPS, static GPS and leveling data but the principles learned will apply regardless of the type of sensor your organization uses.

Topics:

This program will cover most aspects of using STAR*NET and will cover strategies and techniques for working with leveling data, conventional traverse data and GPS data.  Pick here for a more detailed list of topics.  Attendees who complete the course will be prepared to:

  • Configure STAR*NET for a range of equipment types
  • Derive apriori values for instrumentation from specifications
  • Design and manage a least squares project
  • Interpret results from the listing
  • Find and resolve typical problems with networks
  • Use a variety of data conversion and import strategies
  • Combine data from a variety of sources into a single balanced network
