MicroSurvey CAD 2018 Known Issues

The following is a list of critical bugs or important limitations that users should be aware of which affect MicroSurvey CAD 2018. It is not intended as an exhaustive list of all issues. Many of these issues have been fixed with the release of MicroSurvey CAD 2018 Service Pack 1

Important Note: If you ever experience a crash when using MicroSurvey CAD, when you are asked if you would like to send an error report, please always select Yes to send the report. MicroSurvey and IntelliCAD programmers can use these error reports to help investigate and fix crashing problems that occur within the program, even if it is a problem that is not easily reproducible.

Please contact technical support if you experience any problems.

Reported: October 26, 2017

Problem: After installing the recent Windows 10 Fall Creators Update (version 1709), right-clicking the mouse to open the context menu causes a delay. The duration of this delay varies significantly, and seems to increase depending on how long Windows has been running since the last startup. After this delay occurs and the context menu opens, on subsequent attempts the context menu will open normally without any delay. After you restart the program, the delay will occur again the first time the context menu is opened.

Solution: Affected users must wait through the delay, which will only occur once after starting the program.

Status: MicroSurvey and IntelliCAD are working together to investigate this issue.

Problem: Some users with Windows 10 and "Entrust" software have reported a "digital signature not recognized" error message when they install on their computers.

Solution: Affected users have reported that the only current solution is to remove Entrust from the computer and then reinstall. MicroSurvey's digital signatures are valid so this is an incorrect error message. For more information on Entrust users can go to www.entrust.com

Problem: Opening a Drawing using "Recover" prevents MicroSurvey from properly opening projects.  The General Configurations dialog and various "Smart Entity" features wil not work.

Solution: If you use the "Recover" option to open a drawing, save the drawing once it has been repaired and then open the drawing using project manager.  Also, ensure that you do not have the option "Open drawings using Recover" selected in the CAD Options dialog (type _options to check.)

Status: FIXED in MSCAD 2018 SP1

Problem: Some users may experience a connection error message saying "Can not connect to module: EpcAIRXApp_4.00_11.irx The specified module could not be found." when saving a project.

Solution: Affected users should install Cyclone Viewer, after which the error messages should cease.

Reported: October 4, 2018

Problem: Some users may experience the following message when attempting to use the Fillet or Chamfer commands: "Unable to extend the selected entity"

Solution: We have found that extending the lines so they connect then running those commands seem to work, but results may differ as problem is inconsistent. Review this video for a workaround procedure.

Status: Known Issue with SP1
