Pairing the SOKKIA RC-PR remote with a Total Station

Why do you need to pair the RC-PR remote to a Total Station?

Users will be required to pair the RC-PR remote to the Sokkia IX, SX, and SRX total stations if they have previously performed a reset on the RC-PR unit. This is recommended if you are experiencing connections issues between the RC-PR and the Total Station. Resetting the RC-PR is covered in this article. 

Setting up the Total Station to be paired: 

1) Power on the SRX, SX or IX total station

2) In the main screen, Select CONFIG

3) Chose the option, COMMS

4) In the COMMS setup tab, select BLUETOOTH as the COMMS mode

5) To save settings press OK

6) Leave the Total Station powered on

Setting up the RC-PR

1) While the Total Station is powered ON and ready to connect, Power ON the RC-PR unit while holding the SEARCH button down

2) On the RC-PR remote, the FAR led will start to flash indicating the RC-PR unit is searching for Bluetooth devices to pair with. NOTE: This process can take longer if there are multiple Bluetooth devices around

3) Look for a clear indication that the RC-PR remote has found the Total Station:

COM led1 is ON continuously

FAR led is ON continuously

Total Station's Main Screen will show a Green Antenna up icon

4) After the previous step is completed and confirmed, Press the FAR button to confirm the pairing. The RC-PR remote may power off at this point depending on the model. 

5) If the Pairing failed, Press the Search button to make the RC-PR remote continue searching for a total station to pair with. Go back to step 3 to verify the RC unit succesfully connected
