Toolbars, Menus or Program in Disarray Caused by Profile Change.

Some users of MSCAD 2005 and Mapscenes 2006 like to create custom profiles to configure menus and toolbars the way they like to work.

This utility does not work.‚  This is a known issue which will be addressed in the next update.

Users with custom profiles set up may experience:

  • Missing Toolbars
  • Rearranged Toolbars
  • Toolbars missing buttons
  • Duplicated Toolbars
  • Missing or corrupted Menus
  • Very Slow Operation when opening the program

You can tell if you have any custom profiles by opening CadTools >Options>and selecting the Profiles Tab.‚  You will find a profile named Default in the list.‚  The default profile can be modified any time, and any changes will be saved when the program is closed.‚  If you see any other items in this list you have custom profiles.‚  You will need to reset your profile to factory default by following the steps below:

Resetting the Program:

-Before doing this, if you have created any custom toolbars, then please be sure to export them and back them up so they can be imported again later.‚ ‚  Do this by using the export utility in CadTools>Customize.

-To reset the program, Exit your program, go to the Windows Start button, up to "Run" and type in the command REGEDIT and‚ rename this key: HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\MicroSurvey\MSCAD2005 (or Mapscenes 2006)\Profiles\Default then exit Regedit.

-When you restart your program you will get a message about setting the default paths, etc. - then it should be fine again. (if you are uncomfortable with this, please phone us for help!)

-Then you can import the customized toolbars again (if you had exported any before doing the reset).
