MSCAD 2005 / MapScenes 2006 Missing Command Line

MSCAD 2005 / MapScenes 2006 Missing Command Line or other Toolbars

Q)

Help!‚  All of my toolbars and the command line‚ have disappeared!‚  I can drag the toolbars out again and remake my custom‚ toolbars, but I can't track down getting the command line to show up again.

A)

First, lets just make sure that the command line hasn't been turned off.‚  Right-click on your toolbar area, and make sure the desired toolbars, including the one called "Command Bar" up at the top of the list is checked on.‚  If there's no checkmark in front of it, just click on it to turn it on.

Second, if it looks like it's already turned on, give this a try to reset your toolbars which will hopefully bring everything back.‚  Go to Cad Tools > Customize (or type CUSTOMIZE) and then go to the Toolbars tab and press the Reset button.

Thirdly, you can use the registry editor to manually reset all of your toolbar settings (this will also reset the keyboard shortcuts, command aliases, custom menus, and custom toolbars.‚  Anything you need to preserve should be exported first using the Cad Tools > Customize command, so that they can be later imported.‚  Then exit from MSCAD, and run the Registry Editor by going to Start > Run and type the command "REGEDIT".‚  Be very careful in the registry editor, as it contains settings for just about everything in your computer.‚  Browse for, and delete, the following key:‚  HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\MicroSurvey\MSCAD2005\Profiles or HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\MicroSurvey\MapScenes 2006\Profiles.‚  Then exit the registry editor, and start MSCAD or MapScenes again.‚  The first time you start it you will see a message about the support paths not being set up properly - ignore the message, it will fix itself and not appear the 2nd time you run the program.‚  You should now see all of the default toolbars and menus.
