Input Plan Information without using COGO

Sometimes you need to input plan information but you don't wish to use the full COGO functionality that will create points, labels and smartlines.  There are multiple functions that spawn from the CAD Lines and CAD Curves dialogs that are meant for just this purpose.  The Traverse option that appears in the CAD Lines dialog is most useful, as it allows you to input directions in surveyor format regardless of the CAD drawing properties.

See the attached documents for detailed descriptions of these tools.  See also a few notes about the CAD Lines and CAD Curves dialogs:

  • In MicroSurveyCAD, CAD Lines and CAD Curves dialogs will appear when you click on a line or curve when the _GRIPS setting is set to 0
  • In SurveyTools for BricsCAD, inCAD or embeddedCAD CAD Lines and CAD Curves dialogs will appear when you double click on a line or curve
  • The CAD Curves or CAD Lines dislogs can be launched from the MsCOGO ribbon
  • You can adjust for differences in bearing basis by entering a rotation
  • Use the Hot Toggles dialog to control when input and output scale factors are being applied during input and inquiry activities
