The following is a list of critical bugs or important limitations that users should be aware of which affect MicroSurvey CAD 2024. It is not intended as an exhaustive list of all issues.
Important Note: If you ever experience a crash when using MicroSurvey CAD, when you are asked if you would like to send an error report, please always select Yes to send the report. MicroSurvey and IntelliCAD programmers can use these error reports to help investigate and fix crashing problems that occur within the program, even if it is a problem that is not easily reproducible. Please note the crash reports are not actively monitored for technical support purposes.
Please contact technical support if you experience any problems.

Problem: Reactors don't start if you run a command too quickly in a new drawing
Workaround: Wait for the new drawing is completely started and the command line stops loading commands before type in any command in the command bar.
Status: Will be fixed in a future update.
Reported: June 02, 2022
Problem: Add Sheet and Title Block command launches Table Function
Workaround: Run _CUI and rename the TB alias
Status: Will be fixed in a future update.
Reported: December 11, 2023
Problem: Frequent need for REGEN command - primarily on datasets with large coordinate values.
Workaround: None
Status: Will be fixed in a future update.

Problem: When inserting some blocks using insert command or Automap, an error "Duplicate Record name" is displayed and insertion fails.
Workaround: The issue is caused by the *IPN_INTERNAL layer which MSCAD always creates in order to display IPNs. In some cases, when the block has the layer (which is normal with MSCAD) this issue arises. If you have a non-MicroSurvey CAD program you can remove the *IPN_INTERNAL layer from the block, purge the destination drawing, and then reinsert. 1. Open the block in MSCAD. 2. _WBLOCK. 3. Configure the output path and file name. 4. Set insertion units to "undefined" 5. Select all visible elements of the block and select "OK." This will create a new version of the block without the *IPN_INTERNAL layer. Replace your old version of the block with this one.
Status: Will be fixed in a future update.
Reported: August, 2023
Problem: MS_RESCALE will update aspects of polyline labels to the currently set distance and bearing label style, rather than retain the selected bearing/distance defined style for the label.
Workaround: Ensure that labels are the appropriate scale for your deliverable before customizing the styles of those labels.
Status: Will be fixed in a future update.

Problem: When editing multiline text under some circumstances, typing %%d to insert a degree symbol causes program to become unresponsive.
Workaround: Instead of %%d, hold down the alt key and type 0176. A degree symbol is inserted as soon as the alt key is released. TIP: ALT + 0176 inserts a degree symbol in most CAD functions and most Windows programs, so it is a useful entry method to memorize and better than %%d
Status: Will be fixed in a future update.

Problem: When importing some pointcloud files using the "Import PC as LGS" feature, you may get an error "Error: Failed to load publisher license." or "Failed to initialize JetStream writer: you are not licensed."
Workaround: You can edit a file in your AppData folder to bypass this issue. Make sure MicroSurveyCAD is closed, then open the following file with notepad, located in: C:\Users\(user)\AppData\Roaming\MicroSurvey\MSCAD\2024\x99.dat
At the top of the file, edit it so CLMHost has localhost in front it, as shown in the example below. Once that is added, save the file and relaunch the program.
[USBSecurity]
ServerName=
CLMHost=localhost
LastProduct=PRODID6007
LastLicSource=USB_LOCAL
Status: Will be fixed in a future update.
