Zooming and Panning while "Point Editing" dialog is open

The Point Editing dialog is a key feature in our CAD products.  It can be launched from:

  • MsPoints | Store and Edit Points
  • by entering EDITP in the command line
  • by clicking on a point or point label while grips are off in mscad
  • or by double clicking on a point or point label in inCAD, SurveyTools or embeddedCAD:

Use this dialog to review the properties of existing points as defined in the "Point id:" field, edit properties of existing points, launch point related functions by picking on the various options buttons or by selecting "Pick Point" you can define or redefine the coordinates of a point by snapping to CAD entities.  It's useful to know that you can navigate this dialog either by mouse click or by using Tab; Shift+tab or arrow keys.  You can type the point ID name if you need to populate the dialog with the properties of a particular point.

If you need to perform a zoom while this dialog is open you can:

  1. Interact with the Zoom and Pan icons on the dialog
  2. Move the mouse aside (over the drawing screen) and roll the mouse wheel.  You won't be able to pan but you can use the mouse cursor  to control XY position ... your view will always zoom toward the cursor.

If you find you cannot use option 2. you may need to adjust a windows setting on your PC:

Open the Windows settings dialog and search for "mouse settings"

Turn "Scroll inactive windows when I hover over them" setting "On"
