MicroSurvey embeddedCAD 2026 Known Issues

The following is a list of critical bugs or important limitations that users should be aware of which affect MicroSurvey embeddedCAD 2026. It is not intended as an exhaustive list of all issues.

Reported: Feb 02, 2026

Problem: "Error: unable to find font file in make_style?" when making new drawings and/or creating entities that use your labeling defaults such as COGO or creating points. This is due to setting a .TTF style font (such as Arial.ttf) instead of a .SHX for your Labeling Defaults.

Workaround: No workaround at the moment, as the issue resets on drawing reopen.

Status: Will be fixed in a future update.

Reported: February, 2026

Problem: When launching or installing EmbeddedCAD, you may get an error about missing/corrupt .dll files such as mfc140u.dll. This appears to happen on some computers after a Windows update around Jan-Mar of 2026.

Workaround: Follow this article

Status: This is still being investigated, as issue seems to be triggered by a Microsoft update. Possibly future Microsoft updates may fix the issue.

Reported: June, 2026

Problem:Using the _MATCHPROP command to copy the properties from one dimension object to another will cause the following error message to appear: Internal Error: !dbobji.cpp@314

Workaround: Avoid using the Match Properties command with  autocad dimension entities, or use an older release of embeddedCAD

Status: This will be fixed in an upcoming release.
