Some Windows tablets are offered with the Windows IoT operating system. This operating system is a functional equivalent to standard Windows but is not intended as a general purpose operating system and is often delivered on devices that are bundled with purpose built software.
Devices with this operating system are not delivered with Microsoft Store and other software components that are required to install FieldGenius 3.0 and newer.
Users who intend to install a FieldGenius *.msix file report that when they launch the installer they are prompted to select a program to open the *.msix file. It does not launch an installation process as we are used to seeing with a *.exe file or a *.cab file or with an *.msix file on a supported device.
