Occasionally users report an error message when attempting to perform a print of a listing or a plot. This is rare, but seems to be encountered by a small number of specific workstations.
This small change usually makes a difference:
- Close STAR*NET
- touch the Windows key and type "printers"
- select Windows settings for "Printers and Scanners"
- In the list of Print devices that appears, one will have a label "default." Note which one this is.
- Click on the name of another printer in the list
- Pick on "Set as Default"
- Close Windows settings
- Run STAR*NET and attempt the print again. You may need to re-select the printer you intend to use, this is expected. Selecting the printer that was set as the default should not cause an issue.
- If it is inconvenient to leave the printer set in step 6 as default, try following steps 1 to 6 again but reset the original printer noted in step 4 as the default. We often find that simply changing the default once and then reverting solves the issue long term
