Vertical Deflection model DEFLEC2018 for United States

Vertical deflection files correct conventional observations for deflection of the vertical.  They are important for correctly modeling a geoid in a project that combines GNSS and conventional observations.  Pair the Vertical deflection model with the corresponding GEOID2018 file for accurate geoid modeling when adjusting conventional observations.

Conterminous United States:

Xi or North Def: 24N-58N: xhg18u.bin

Eta or East Def: 130W-60W:  ehg18u.bin

Puerto Rico and U.S. Virgin Islands

Xi or North Def: 15N-21N: x2018p0.bin

Eta or East Def: 69W-64W: e2018p0.bin

For all other regions use DEFLEC2012b along with GEOID2018

Use the Stargeoid utility to create a VDF file for your region.  Specify the VDF file in the Modeling project settings.

Please compare Vertical Deflections that appear in the STAR*NET listing against results from the National Geodetic Survey's Interactive Computations Page for accuracy.
