Defining a Custom Page Form for Printing

Question

Can I define a custom paper size for printing?

Answer

Printer forms define a paper size and type used by a print device. Windows contains several predefined Forms for the most common paper sizes, but you can define a custom paper form as follows:

Windows XP

  1. Go to Start | Printers and Faxes.
  2. Click on "File | Server Properties".
  3. Click on the Forms tab.
  4. Turn on the "Create a new form" checkbox, then enter a name and the size and margin options as desired then press the "Save Form" button.

Windows Vista / Windows 7

  1. Go to Start | Devices and Printers
  2. Click once on your Printer (or PDF Driver) to highlight it, then click on "Print server properties" near the top of the window.
  3. Click on the Forms tab.
  4. Turn on the "Create a new form" checkbox, then enter a name and the size and margin options as desired then press the "Save Form" button.
