Getting the Building / Structure Library from 2005 to 2008

Q) I have just upgraded to MicroSurvey CAD 2008 from MicroSurvey CAD 2005.‚  I am very impressed with all the new features, but have not figured out how to get my‚ Building / Structure‚ Library from MicroSurvey CAD 2005 into MicroSurvey CAD 2008.

A) The Building / Structure‚ Library file is called DB_POLY.ASC and is found in MicroSurvey CAD 2005 in the following folder:

C:\Program Files\MicroSurvey\MSCAD2005\mscad\

You need to copy this file over to MicroSurvey CAD 2008 (either on the same computer or a different computer) and place it in the following folder, and over-write the file already there.

If running MicroSurvey CAD 2008 on Windows Vista copy it to this folder:

C:\ProgramData\MicroSurvey\MSCAD\2008\mscad\

If running MicroSurvey CAD 2008 on Windows XP copy it to this folder:

C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Application Data\MicroSurvey\MSCAD\2008\mscad\

Now when you start MicroSurvey CAD 2008 and go the MsTools menu | Subdivision / House Design |‚  Building / Structure Library, the library should now contain everything you previously had in MicroSurvey CAD 2005.
