PointCloud, Animation or Render View is Empty

This is an issue which affects the following products:

  • MicroSurvey CAD 2008, 2009 or 2010
  • MapScenes 2008, 2009 or 2010
  • Capture 2008, 2009 or 2010
  • PointCloud 2010

Some users are reporting that after a driver update on their systems they are no longer able to see the contents of the render view, animation view or pointcloud view, it simply appears black.  We have seen this on systems with certain Nvidia graphics cards and the Windows 7 operating system.

In many cases we have found the problem is resolved by following these steps:

1. You must be logged in as an administrator
2. Find the icon that you use to launch the program and right click on it
3. Select Properties
4. Select Compatibility
5. Check on "Run this program in compatibility mode for: and set Windows XP (Service Pack 3)
* If the option is greyed out you may need to first pick on "Changes settings for all users"
6. Pick apply
7. Now run the program using your modified icon.  You will see an extra prompt when you run, this is normal.
