Exporting Conventional or GPS Data from Trimble Survey Controller Using the Jobxml format

Jobxml is an xml based format which allows for export of traverse or GPS data directly from the data collector to other programs. A jxl file can be exported from more recent versions of Trimble Survey Controller or Trimble Access.

Once exported you can use the STAR*JobXML convertor to convert these files to STAR*NET dat format.

NOTE: We have learned that Jobxml files that are exported from Trimble Business Center will include only coordinates, no observations.  The Jobxml file must be exported from the controller.

Here are the steps to follow with Trimble Access software:

1. Open the project in Trimble Survey Controller:

2. From the Jobs tab select "Import/Export" and then "Export fixed format files"

 3. Select Trimble JobXML option and pick "Accept."

4. Select "OK" when complete.

5. Copy the file with the extension .jxl or xml from the controller to your desktop computer.

6. Run STAR*NET, and run the StarJobXML from the input menu, select your input and output folders, set your options and Import!
