General Information

Microsoft Windows Vista:  All versions of our software prior to 2008 (up to and including MicroSurvey CAD 2005, MicroSurvey inCAD 2006, and MapScenes 2006) are not compatible with the Windows Vista operating system. Only MicroSurvey CAD 2008 or newer and MapScenes 2008 or newer, are compatible with Windows Vista.  We can not provide support for any of these older products used under the Windows Vista operating system, and can not guarantee that our software will work correctly even if they appear to run using the Windows Vista Compatibility Mode.  We strongly urge you not to use any previous version under the Windows Vista operating system.

Microsoft Windows 7:  All version of our CAD software released since 2008 are Compatible with Windows 7 as it uses the same file architecture as Windows Vista.

Please see below for specific information about each MicroSurvey product.

Click here to view the AutoCAD(R) Release Comparison Matrix, supported operating systems are listed at the end of the file. An Autodesk(R) blog also suggests that a future update for AutoCAD(R) 2007 may add Windows Vista compatibility, but previous versions will not support Windows Vista.

All versions of MicroSurvey inCAD support the same operating systems as the AutoDesk(R) product being used. Because MicroSurvey inCAD 2006 currently requires AutoCAD(R) 2006 or previous, Windows Vista is not supported.

Information about ActiveSync vs Windows Mobile Device Center

You are probably familiar with using Microsoft ActiveSync on computers running WindowsXP and earlier for synchronizing your data collector with your desktop computer. Windows Vista no longer uses ActiveSync, but a new ActiveSync replacement program called the Windows Mobile Device Center (WMDC). ActiveSync can not be installed on Windows Vista to be used instead of the WMDC.  Windows 7 also uses the Windows Mobile Device Center.

Connecting to the WMDC with a device running an older "unsupported" operating system (Windows CE 3.0, Pocket PC 3.0, or Pocket PC 2002) may trigger an "Unsupported" message.  We have found that this message can often be ignored and the utility can be used normally.
