We strongly urge you not to use any previous version under the Windows Vista operating system. Information about ActiveSync vs Windows Mobile Device CenterYou are probably familiar with using Microsoft ActiveSync on computers running WindowsXP and earlier for synchronizing your data collector with your desktop computer. Windows Vista no longer uses ActiveSync, but a new ActiveSync replacement program called the Windows Mobile Device Center (WMDC). ActiveSync can not be installed on Windows Vista to be used instead of the WMDC. Windows 7 also uses the Windows Mobile Device Center. Connecting to the WMDC with a device running an older "unsupported" operating system (Windows CE 3.0, Pocket PC 3.0, or Pocket PC 2002) may trigger an "Unsupported" message. We have found that this message can often be ignored and the utility can be used normally.
