Users have reported that when they install MicroSurvey CAD or embeddedCAD 2016 on a Windows 10 computer that they can't open files that are stored on network drives. This is because of a new security feature in Windows 10.
To resolve this problem:
- Pick the Windows Start button
- Pick Settings
- Pick "Network and Internet"
- Ethernet
- Change Advanced Sharing Settings
- Turn on Network Discovery
- Run the program BUT BE SURE THAT YOU ARE NOT "Running as Administrator" OR THAT YOU HAVE NOT CONFIGURED YOUR SHORTCUT TO DO SO BY DEFAULT.
- Now you should be able to your networked drives when using File | Open or "Browse for Drawing" in the Project Manager
