Problems when inserting a Raster Image in MicroSurveyCAD

Symptoms:

With MicroSurveyCAD 2026 and older, when inserting large raster images from online sources or Pix4D some users report seeing the error message "External Reference missing" after specifying the import options.  No frame is created and the drawing is not visible.

With MicroSurvey CAD 2027 the symptoms are different.  The command line will display:

Command: _IMAGEATTACH 

External file "name of file.tif"

Stored at: .\name of file.tif

Was resolved by loading: C:\...path to file...\.\name of file.tif

A frame will be created

No image will be visible

Solution:

Type FASTIMAGEDRAW and set the option to 2 and create a new drawing.  Import using the same steps as before.
